I began to get a handle on drawing the characters. I’ve drawn the frog a lot more than the turtle and it shows. The frog is easier to draw and the turtle makes me a little nuts trying to get his arms to look right. This is nearly the final character design for these two.
The sense of humor is fully developed, Zook is annoying but charming. Alistair is stuffy but adorable. At this point, I’m picturing Alistair’s voice as done by Bill Scott and Zook’s by June Foray in an almost reversal of their parts as Bullwinkle and Rocky. It works the other way around, too, but a Hoppity Hooper counter-tenor for the frog is funnier.
