Nothing exceeds like success.
For many people, Walmart represents everything that is wrong with modern American culture. And for many other people, Walmart is where you go to shop because it’s cheap.
I thought it was funny to have the frog say “Walmart” because it is a word you can croak if you try. This was the first strip that I felt had all the elements I wanted; a decently competent bit of art, some fun with words and a good gag. I felt like I could have made Walt Kelly smile with this one.

Considering Walmart’s reputation with wetland areas (it’s not good), there is a lot of truth to this one. Love it!
That’s got to be bonus because I didn’t know that at the time I wrote the comic.
Walmart was just an easy target and there were TWO of them within a few miles of my apartment.
It’s definitely a bonus. And Walmart makes itself an easy target.
By the way, my mom works in wetlands protection, and appreciated the strip, I think. (A printed copy may make its way to the office, I don’t know…)
Cool!
